POLÍTICA E PROPOSTA

    A proposta da revista Engenharia Térmica  é a de publicar artigos de interesse permanente versando sobre pesquisa, desenvolvimento e projeto relacionados à Energia, Equipamentos, Petróleo e Gás Natural.
    A revista está dividida em duas seções: i) Tecnologia e ii) Ciência. A seção Tecnologia foi projetada para conter artigos que documentem aplicações de engenharia moderna, ou avanços gerais da indústria. A seção Ciência foi criada para publicar artigos que versem sobre avanços fundamentais em Transferência de Calor e Mecânica dos Fluidos, novos pensamentos físicos, e novos métodos analíticos e experimentais que tenham grande apelo para a comunidade industrial.
    Artigos completos científicos, de revisão ou técnicos devem ser submetidos exclusivamente para a revista Engenharia Térmica. Quando submeterem artigos para a revista, os autores devem declarar que o artigo não está em consideração para publicação em nenhum outro lugar e que não foi publicado anteriormente. Exceção é feita para artigos previamente publicados em anais de Conferências. Artigos de revisão devem se constituir em uma apreciação crítica de informações publicadas.
    A decisão de aceitação para publicação tanto para a seção Tecnologia como para a seção Ciência depende dos Editores, e é baseada nas recomendações de pelo menos dois revisores independentes, e do Corpo Editorial, se necessário.

PAGAMENTO VOLUNTÁRIO DE PÁGINA

    Os artigos selecionados para publicação na revista Engenharia Térmica e de Fluidos estão sujeitos ao Pagamento Voluntário de Página de US$ 150.00 por página de jornal, que será faturado, através do primeiro autor, para a Empresa do autor, Instituto ou Agência. A publicação não depende do Pagamento Voluntário de Página. Cinqüenta cópias do artigo na forma final da revista serão disponibilizados aos autores quando o artigo tiver sido publicado na revista e o Pagamento Voluntário de Página tiver sido pago. PAGAMENTO OBRIGATÓRIO DE PÁGINA EM EXCESSO

    O primeiro autor de um artigo aceito para publicação que exceder o limite padrão de seis páginas (6000 palavras) deverá efetuar o Pagamento Obrigatório de Página em Excesso de US$ 150.00 por página para cada página que ultrapassar as seis páginas de revista. Esta taxa será incluida, como um item separado, na mesma fatura do Pagamento Voluntário de Página.

SUBMISSÃO

    Os artigos e toda a correspondência devem ser enviados para o Editor Técnico, ou, alternativamente, para qualquer Editor Técnico associado.
    São necessárias 05 (cinco) cópias do artigo. O autor deve também submeter as figuras originais, que serão devolvidas após o processo de revisão, caso o artigo seja rejeitado.
   Todos os artigos para a RETERM devem ser submetidos somente em Inglês. 
    Um artigo submetido para publicação deve ser acompanhado de uma carta de encaminhamento indicando para que seção da revista o artigo está direcionado, i.e., Tecnologia ou Ciência, e contendo o(s) nome(s) completo(s) do(s) autor(es), endereços para correspondência, o autor para contato, incluindo telefone, número de fax e endereço e-mail, e, se os autores desejarem, os nomes de até cinco pessoas que poderiam atuar como revisores.

FORMATO

    O artigo deve ser estruturado na seguinte ordem: Título (incluindo um Título em Inglês), resumo (não excedendo 400 palavras), palavras-chave, corpo principal do artigo (dividido em seções numeradas e subseções), agradecimentos, nomenclatura, referências, apêndices, lista de tabelas, tabelas, lista de figuras e figuras (uma por página).
    Em artigos científicos, informação suficiente deve ser fornecida no texto ou referenciando outros artigos em revistas geralmente disponíveis, para permitir a reprodução do trabalho.
    Os artigos devem ser digitados em espaço duplo, uma página por folha, usando papel do tipo A-4, com margens de 2,5 cm. As páginas devem ser numeradas e, em princípio, não exceder 24 páginas, incluindo tabelas e figuras. 
    Todos os símbolos devem ser definidos no texto. Uma seção nomenclatura em separado deve listar, em ordem alfabética, os símbolos utilizados no texto e suas definições, seguidos pelos símbolos gregos, subscritos e, finalmente, superescritos. Requere-se o uso de unidades SI (métricas).
    Incertezas devem ser reportadas para resultados experimentais e numéricos.

EXPRESSÕES MATEMÁTICAS

    As expressões matemáticas devem ser digitadas e não devem ser introduzidas ao longo do próprio texto, como parte de uma sentença, e sim digitadas em linhas individuais.
    Números que identifiquem expressões matemáticas devem ser colocados entre parentesis. Refira-se às equações no texto, como “Eq. (1)” , ou se estiver no começo de uma frase, “Equação (1)”

ILUSTRAÇÕES E TABELAS 

   Figuras e Tabelas devem ser numeradas consecutivamente na ordem em que são referenciadas no texto. Elas devem acompanhar o artigo, após o fim do texto.
   As ilustrações devem ser submetidas em impressão a laser ou impressões de desenhos originais. Fotocópias devem ser evitadas.
   As ilustrações devem estar claras e permitirem a redução (até 50 %). As letras devem ser grandes o suficiente para serem claramente legíveis.
    A quantidade de letras deve ser reduzida o tanto quanto possível a fim de se ajustarem à legenda das figuras.

SOFTWARE

    Após a notificação de aceitação, os autores devem submeter a versão final do artigo em disquete, juntamente com duas cópias impressas em papel (Word para Windows, ou Latex).

REFERÊNCIAS

    Cite as referências no texto colocando o último nome do(s) autor(es) e o ano de publicação: “Recent work (Prata and Parise, 1985) ...” or “Recently Prata and Parise (1985)...”. Com três ou mais autores, utilize a forma “Prata et al. Quando duas ou mais referências tiverem a mesma identificação, faça a distinção entre elas, colocando “a”, “b”, etc, junto ao ano de publicação.
    São válidas as seguintes referências: artigos de revistas, dissertações, anais de conferências publicados, pré-impressões numeradas de conferências, livros, artigos submetidos se a revista for identificada, e comunicações particulares.
    As referências devem ser listadas em ordem alfabética, de acordo com o último nome do primeiro autor, na parte final do artigo. A seguir apresentam-se algumas amostras de referências:

PURPOSE AND POLICY 
  
    The purpose of the Thermal   Engineering is to publish papers of permanentinterest dealing with research, development and design related to Energy, Equipments, Petroleum and Natural Gas.
    The journal is divided in two sections: i) Technology and ii) Science. Section Technology has been designed to comprise articles that document modern engineering applications, or general advances in industry.  Section Science was created to publish articles that deal with fundamental advances in heat transfer and fluid mechanics, new physical insights, and novel experimental and analytical methods that have great appeal for the industry community.
    Full-lenght scientific, review or technical papers should be submitted exclusively to By submitting an article to the journal, authors should warrant that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere and has not been previously published. Exception is made for papers previously published in proceedings of conferences. Review articles should constitute a critical appraisal of published information.
    The decision of acceptance for publication either for section Technology or secion Science lies with the Editors and is based on the recommendations of at least two independent referees, and of the Editorial Board, if necessary.

VOLUNTARY PAGE CHARGE 

    Papers selected for publication in Thermal and Fluids Engineering are subject to aVoluntary Page Charge of US$ 150.00 per journal page, which will be invoiced, through the lead author, to the author's company, institute, or agency. Publication is not dependent upon payment of the Voluntary Page Charge. Fifty reprints are provided when the paper has been published in the Journal and the Voluntary Page Charge has been paid. MANDATORY EXCESS-PAGE CHARGE

    The lead author of an accepted paper which exceeds the standard length of six pages (6000 words) will be assessed a Mandatory Excess-Page Charge of US$ 150.00 per page for each page over six Journal pages. This charge will be included, as a separate item, on the same invoice as the Voluntary Page Charge.

SUBMISSION

    Manuscripts and all the correspondence should be sent to the Technical Editor, or, alternatively, to anyAssociateTechnical Editor.
    Five (5) copies of the manuscript are required. The author should also submit the original figures, which will be returned after the review process, should the paper be refused.
    All Manuscripts for RETERM should be submitted only in English.
    A manuscript submitted for publication should be accompanied by a cover letter indicating to what section of the journal the paper should be directed to, i.e., Technology or Science, and containing the full name(s) of author(s), mailing addresses, the author for contact, including phone, fax number and e-mail address, and, if the authors so wish, the names of up to five persons who could act as referees.

FORMAT 

    The manuscript should be organised in the following order: Title (including a Title in English), abstract (not exceeding 400 words), keywords, main body of the paper (divided into numbered sections and subsections), acknowledgements, nomenclature, references, appendices, list of tables, tables, list of figures and figures (one per page).
    In scientific papers, sufficient information should be provided in
the text or by referring to papers in generally available Journals, to
permit the work to be repeated.
    Manuscripts should be typed double-spaced, on one side of the page, usingA-4 sized paper, with 2.5 cm margins. The pages should be numbered and, in principle, not to exceed 24 pages, including tables and figures.
    All symbols should be defined in the text. Aseparate nomenclature section should list, in alphabetical order, the symbols used in the text and their definitions, followed by Greek symbols, subscripts and, finally, superscripts. The use of SI (metric) units is required.
    Uncertainties should be specified for experimental and numerical results.

MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSIONS 

     Mathematical expressions should be typed and should not be introduced along the text itself, as part of a sentence line, but typed on individual lines.
    Numbers that identify mathematical expressions should be enclosed in parentheses. Refer to equations in the text as “Eq. (1)”, or if at the beginning of a sentence, “Equation (1)”.

ILLUSTRATIONS AND TABLES

    Figures and Tables should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are referred. They should accompany the manuscript, at the end of the text.
    Illustrations should be submitted in laser printer output, original line drawings or glossy prints. Photocopies should be avoided.
    Illustrations should be clear and suitable for reduction (up to 50%).
    Lettering should be large enough to be clearly legible.
    The amount of lettering should be reduced as far as possible by transferring it to the figure legend.

SOFTWARE 

    Upon notification of acceptance, authors should submit the final
version of the manuscript on disk along with two hardcopy versions
(Word forWindows, or Latex).

REFERENCES

    Cite references in the text by giving the last name of the author(s) and the year of publication: either “Recent work (Prata and Parise, 1985) ...” or “Recently Prata and Parise (1985)....”. With three or more authors, use the form “Prata et al. (1985)” in the text. When two or more references `have the same text identification, distinguish them by appending “a”, “b”, etc., to year of publication.
    Acceptable references include: journal articles, dissertations, published conference proceedings, numbered paper pre-prints from conferences, books, submitted articles if the journal is identified, and private communications.
    References should be listed in alphabetical order, according to the last name for the first author, at the end of paper. Some sample references follow:
